Pitaya – Magenta Magic

Something so bright and cheery has to make you feel that way, right? If you haven’t seen Pitaya Plus yet, put on your shades, come hungry, and dive in! This fruit will make you wonder why we can’t live in a magenta-colored world. I’ve never seen anything so natural be so Crayola-esque! And Pitaya is certainly all-natural! It’s dragon fruit, first found in Central America.

Here’s an explanatory expert from their website:

The Pitaya fruit from Central America can be found along nutrient rich volcano mountainsides. The Pitaya fruit sprouts from a big beautiful white flower that only opens its petals under the night sky. The strong sun rises in the morning, and burns off the flowers petals. You are left with a small bud ready to grow into a delicious Pitaya fruit.”

That description alone is making me drool and grin. Super goofy image.

I have had the pleasure of downing a Pitaya Bowl or 100 thanks to Seaside Smoothie. This awesome smoothie shack/surf shop serves them up real nice with kale, berries, and whatever you want. Sometimes I get them with kiwi and coconut on top and a drizzle of honey. However way you like your smoothies or fruit bowls, I highly suggest you add Pitaya to the mix. It’s supposed to be a super fruit which means it’s filled with antioxidants, vitamins, natural energy, no sugar added, gluten-free and MAGIC in magenta!

It’s the kind of fruit that makes you feel zingy from the inside, out! Hence the reason I take practically every single out-of-town friend who comes to visit me to Seaside Smoothie. It’s my not-so-secret strategy to lure my friends closer.

That’s mommy Fay in the background. On this day, she brought her own apple to the smoothie shop. Hey, she can do whatever makes her happy!
