Magic in a Bottle

When you work on TV, what happens to your face can literally make or break you. When I started noticing that I was aging and gaining worry lines, I started to worry even more which then exacerbated the problem! There’s really no right way to worry, right?

I was never too concerned with wrinkles until I moved to San Diego in February 2014. It was almost instantly when I started seeing the effects of the sun. I was outside all the time, can ya blame me?! And, apparently the sun rays are stronger here than in Sacramento or Reno, where I used to work.

So I looked at face-fixing options. Wether it was an esthetician, plastic surgeon, or cosmetic acupuncturist everyone asked me the same thing, “Do you wear sunscreen?”

I know, they would really be doing a disservice if they didn’t verify with all of their clients that they are, in fact, putting on the single most effective protector of our skin. I admitted to my esthetician in Sacramento, Emme Diane that I don’t always wear sunscreen because it makes me feel guilty. Yes, that’s what I said. I feel guilty because not all sunscreens are good for you skin. What the heck are all the ingredients on the bottle? And why is it OK to put all those chemicals on your face when I would never even dream of eating something with a long list of ingredients like that? Emme reassured me that she has always been on a quest to find the purest of the purest sunscreen, that also works. So fast-forward a few years and VOILA! She found it. Or more like, she MADE it!

Emme Diane now has a skin care line and her SPF 40 sunblock is not only effective, but it’s the most soothing lotion I’ve ever put on my face. Somehow she concocted the perfect mousse-like substance, that has a lovely tint to it too so you don’t even have to worry about putting on foundation! I didn’t know sunscreen could come out like that. It feels so light and silky. It also has never once caused me to feel oily. Instead of dreading to put on my sunscreen, I am excited now to apply it every morning (and many times a day.) I take it with me everywhere, especially to the beach. Sometimes I feel like a dealer, trying to get all of my friends to try it. But that’s only because I know it works WONDERS! Emme, thanks for caring so much about all of our faces that you put together such a precious and perfect mixture. You are helping me maintain my face (and hopefully career!) for much, much longer.
