Kickbox the Sand!

I just wrapped a whirlwind wedding weekend across two ends of the state. I was helping a friend with a wedding in Carlsbad Thurs-Sat. Then we went to Sacramento for another dear friends wedding on Sunday. The only semi-workout I even attempted to get was dancing on the dance floors and going up and down stairs carrying some boxes. That’s it! So I woke up today feeling “blah” but I knew a little sweat would help turn my frown around. IT WORKED!

I took my workout to the beach. I can’t jump around or run yet (I gotta wait for physical therapist to clear me after the broken fibula incident of January 2015) but I figured out a way to sweat. KICKBOXING IN THE SAND!

Here’s what I did:

squat low, punch, punch  – 50 times

side kick (right side) while punching right arm towards foot (focus on tightening tricep) – 50 times

side kick (left side) while punching left arm towards left foot (tighten tricep) – 50 times

back kick (squeeze hammies), punch towards sky (tighten bicep) – 50 times

front kick, punch in front of you – 50 times

REPEAT 2-3 times… CAUTION: It adds up!

Followed by abs. I did crunches with legs going in and out, 150 times
